ICRISAT
GIS & modeling staff are currently engaged in a range of research
and development projects,
notably:
- the development of an aflatoxin risk early warning system to improve nutrition, health and income in West African smallholder farms (funding: CIDA/CCLF)
- a project on environmental risk management of genetically enhanced sorghums in Mali and Kenya (funding: USAID-BBI/PBS)
- the Desert Margins Program which
currently covers Botswana, Burkina Faso, Kenya, Mali, Namibia,
Niger, Senegal, South Africa and Zimbabwe (funding: GEF) - website - map
- a Belgium-funded project on operationalizing
bio-economic decision support tools to improve the livelihoods
of Sahelian smallholder, mostly focused on Niger
- Carbon from Communities: A Satellite View and projects on soil C sequestration in West Africa: Cape Verde,
